Nick is Milkwood Permaculture's primary educator and consultant. Nick is passionate about permaculture education, keyline design, soil, pattern literacy and regenerative agriculture. He divides his time between extensive permaculture teaching, permaculture consultancy, writing and farming in central western NSW.

Joel Salatin of PolyFace Farms is a world-leading example of how a small family farm can become an extremely diverse and profitable Local Food producer, and how the benefits of Local Food Systems can create resilence, stability and abundance for both local farmers and the wider community. Featured in Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, and in the films FRESH and FOOD, Inc., Joel and his family at Polyface Farms exemplify successful small-scale farming and the growing relocalization movement.

Dave Jacke is the primary author of the two-volume Edible Forest Gardens texts. Dave has studied ecology and design since the 1970s, and has run his own ecological design firm Dynamics Ecological Design since 1984. An engaging and passionate teacher of ecological design and permaculture, and a meticulous designer, Dave has consulted on, designed, built, and planted landscapes, homes, farms, and communities in the many parts of the United States, as well as overseas.

Floyd is an experienced permaculture designer and teacher whose most recent appointment was permaculturalist-in-residence at Soneva Kiri by Six Senses in Thailand, which included establishing tropical market gardens and extensive aquaponics systems. Floyd has worked in many parts of Australia with indigenous and local communities to design and actualise resilient food systems. Floyd is now designing and establishing a range of integrated small-farm animal systems to build the fertility, diversity and food production capacity of Milkwood Farm.

Tim is a second-generation beekeeper, growing up on a large apiary in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. Along with his wife Emma, he is the founder of the award-winning Malfroy’s Gold honey label, and has been practicing organic and biodynamic beekeeping since he started keeping his own bees in 2006. In 2008 he was the first beekeeper in Australia to build and trial a Warré hive, and traveled to the Apimondia in France 2009 to take part in the first conference session on Warré and top-bar beekeeping.

Joyce Wilkie & Michael Plane
Joyce and Michael are passionate about growing vegetables, pastured poultry and creating and supporting fantastic small farms. They run Allsun Farm and 'Gundaroo Tiller', an innovative tool and equipment company for microfarming. Following early careers in earth sciences and education, they have farmed for over 30 years near now farm at Gundaroo, NSW. As they get older they are concentrating their efforts on growing more growers.

Costa is an organic garden activator, permaculturalist and change maker with a background in landscape design. He's also an acclaimed, nation-wide advocate for permaculture, real food, school garden schemes and all things green and growing, and has tirelessly contributed to countless backyard, school and community gardening initiatives. Costa is also the host of Gardening Australia on ABC TV.

Hannah is a change-maker, permaculture designer and facilitator who has designed and delivered many community-scale programs on local and state levels around food growing, composting and cultivating community. Her extensive project portfolio includes working locally with Cultivating Community and overseas with Action Aid.

Michael is an organic market gardener with a background in permaculture, organic agriculture and horticulture and has a wide knowledge of how to grow high quality, healthy food. He's run his own Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme in the northern rivers of NSW and has a great working knowledge of organic vegetable growing in both temperate and subtropical environments. Michael is in charge of Milkwood Farm's market garden production and education.

Bill Mollison is the co-originator of Permaculture theory, along with David Holmgren. Author of 'Permaculture: A Designer's Manual' and many other permaculture texts, Bill is widely regarded as a living treasure and has been much awarded both in Australia and internationally for his contribution to permaculture studies. Since the early 1980's Bill has traveled the world teaching, observing and applying permaculture, as documented in the ABC television series The Global Gardener. Rosemary Morrow is known and revered world-wide for her pragmatic and effective approach to creating Permaculture systems across an incredibly broad range of environments. Rosemary has successfully implemented community-scale Permaculture systems in such diverse bioshperes as Uganda, Somalia, Thailand, the Middle East, Bhutan, Australia and northern Europe, to name but a few. Her knowledge on how to create abundance, food security and successful sustainable farming models, no matter what the country, is perhaps unparallelled in permaculture education today.

Eugenio Gras is one of Latin America's foremost sustainable agriculture experts. Currently working intensively for COAS in the training of farmers, producers, academics and professors throughout Latin America, Eugenio has taught and spoken worldwide on his innovative techniques for creating organic, natural fertiliser from whatever is at hand on a given farm. David Holmgren is an ecologist, ecological design engineer and writer. He is perhaps most well known as co-originator of the permaculture concept with Bill Mollison. Through the spread of permaculture around the world, his environmental principles have exerted a global influence. He is the author of several significant permaculture texts, the best known being Permaculture: principles and pathways beyond sustainability. Kirk Gadzia is a certified instructor with the Holistic Management International Center and founder of Resource Management Services with over 20 years experience teaching the concepts of Holistic Management worldwide. Paul Taylor has been an organic farmer and has extensive experience with returning non-productive soils back into profitable systems for more than 30 years. As a former Director of ASAP supplies he has extensive experience in the Soil Foodweb system of vital soil management as developed by Dr. Elaine Ingham. Will has been working with fungi and mushrooms for over 10 years throughout Australia and is committed to raising awareness about how home mushroom propagation can benefit a family's nutrition and help create healthier meals.
Will also sees mushroom awareness as an important educational tool for teaching kids and adults alike about the crucial role that fungi plays in our soils and ecosystems. Will runs the Forest Fungi website.
