In this hands-on, 4-hour workshop you will learn the skills and techniques that will allow you to create and maintain a healthy, highly productive, nutrient-dense organic garden. We all know that growing our own organic fruit and veggies a great way to feed our families and ourselves, but did you know that the nutritional quality of your food is only as healthy as the soil it's grown in? In one jam-packed morning, Adam Kennedy will lead you through a bunch of practical tips and tricks for ensuring your soil and your plants are as healthy and happy as they can possibly be. Using completely organic, do-it-yourself techniques, Adam will show you how to best feed the garden that feeds you! This workshop covers:

About this workshop:This workshop runs from 9am - 1pm on Sunday 19th June. Complimentary tea, coffee and organic fruit included in your workshop fee. We also provide some useful take-home resources for students and all workshop materials. Description
Our Sydney course venue is Alexandria Park Community Centre, set in the grounds of Alexandria Community School, on the corner of Park Road and Power Avenue. This amazing place has multiple thriving community gardens, school gardens, a bush tucker garden and outdoor classroom learning areas. Venue MAP. Getting there by Train: The venue is 15 minutes walk from Redfern Station. Take the Gibbons St exit and continue south. Gibbons St will become Wyndham St, and soon you will reach Alexandria Park on your right. Cut through the park to the corner of Park Rd and Power Avenue, and there you are. Cityrail website. Getting there by Bus: The 370 and 355 bus routes run along McEvoy St, one block from the venue. Sydney Buses website. Parking: There is ample street parking around the school.

Adam Kennedy is a Sydney permaculture instructor and guerrilla gardener who loves anything to do with soil, compost and growing good things to eat. Known for his energy, enthusiasm and DIY approach, Adam's passion for urban permaculture is often infectious. Adam has been instrumental to many Milkwood Permaculture courses and projects over the past year, so now we're letting him loose on Sydney with our new series of Winter Workshops!
