Join Rosemary Morrow & Nick Ritar for seven days of intensive permaculture teacher training that will change the way you think about education, and enable you to take action towards a permaculture teaching career.

Permaculture teacher training can build your ability to empower others with life-changing skills. Learn how to pass on knowledge of permaculture theory and practice in a way that creates real change within your students, and activates entire communities.

This intensive 7-day course will cover many essential and practical aspects of permaculture teaching that can then be applied to PDC teaching, community permaculture education, permaculture school garden teaching and many other forms of knowledge transfer.

Rosemary Morrow is very well known for her pragmatic and effective approach to creating Permaculture systems across an incredibly broad range of environments. Her knowledge on how to create abundance, food security and successful sustainable farming models, no matter what the country, is extensive.

Nick Ritar is one of Australia's most active permaculture teachers and is continually developing his dynamic teaching methodologies. His commitment to effective communication of important ideas and skills is evident in his wide student alumni who are now effective teachers themselves.

This course challenges students to become better teachers and communicators through self-analysis in regards to teaching style and knowledge transfer, as well as introducing students to a wide range of dynamic teaching techniques, methodologies and practices suitable for different learning environments and outcomes.

This course is suitable for Permaculture Design Certificate graduates looking to broaden and consolidate their ability to teach permaculture in a wide range of formats and scenarios. It is a highly rigorous course with incredible learning outcomes for the students.

Students should be prepared for an intense 7-day experience with many after-hours sessions (optional) that will cover a comprehensive range of teaching styles and methodologies, and will leave them fully equipped to become truly effective teachers.

  • Learners with special needs, prisoners, ethnic minorities

Pre-requisites for this course:

In order to attend this course you must have either completed a Permaculture Design Certificate somewhere in the world, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.

About the teachers:

Rosemary Morrow has been teaching permaculture for over 20 years in places as diverse as Afghanistan, Austria and Australia (to name but a few), and is the author of the Earth User's Guide to Permaculture and other titles.

Rosemary is known for producing excellent and effective permaculture teachers though her Permaculture Teacher Training programs delivered across the world including Australia, Europe and the Middle East. She lives in Australia.

Nick Ritar is Milkwood Permaculture's lead educator and consultant, and is committed to developing a new generation of permaculture educators who are professional, adept and flexible in their abilities to educate a wide variety of students.

Nick is passionate about permaculture education and design, soil, appropriate technology and regenerative agriculture. He divides his time between extensive permaculture teaching, permaculture consultancy and farming in central western NSW.

Your course fee includes a free copy of Permaculture Teachers Notes, Rosemary Morrow's fabulous notes for Permaculture teachers, and extensive post-course resources. We also make available our extensive library of permaculture texts for your use during your course.

Your course fee includes tea + coffee + organic fruit during the day. For lunches, we usually put in a joint order to a great little organic cafe around the corner, LoveGrub - or feel free to bring your own.

During the course:

Class starts on the morning of 24th September and concludes in the afternoon of 30th September. Students should expect to do multiple evening sessions during the course, though these are optional.

Our Sydney course venue is Alexandria Park Community Centre, set in the grounds of Alexandria Community School, on the corner of Park Road and Power Avenue. This amazing place has multiple thriving community gardens, school gardens, a bush tucker garden and outdoor classroom learning areas. Venue MAP.

Getting there by Train: The venue is 15 minutes walk from Redfern Station. Take the Gibbons St exit and continue south. Gibbons St will become Wyndham St, and soon you will reach Alexandria Park on your right. Cut through the park to the corner of Park Rd and Power Avenue, and there you are. Cityrail website.

Getting there by Bus: The 370 and 355 bus routes run along McEvoy St, one block from the venue. Sydney Buses website.

Parking: There is ample street parking around the school.
